A Renewed Identity Reflecting the Vision of Anne Carrier Architectes
Anne Carrier Architectes
In the wake of its recent leadership transition, Anne Carrier Architectes unveils a new visual identity—one that embodies both the continuity of a legacy and the momentum of a future-oriented vision. Designed by Caserne, this rebranding initiative was conceived as a structuring gesture: a tool that reflects the firm’s ambitions, while remaining true to the sensibility that has defined its reputation.
This graphic renewal revolves around the acronym ACA, formed from the initials of Anne Carrier Architectes. These three letters distill the firm’s essence, while introducing a clear, contemporary, and versatile signature. The choice of acronym symbolizes transition: the arrival of seasoned new partners bringing fresh direction, while preserving the foundations that have sustained the agency’s strength for over 30 years.
The new identity is built on a modular graphic system directly inspired by architectural principles. By isolating the letters ACA, a flexible yet rigorous structure emerges—one that lends itself to cohesive deployment across all media. The chosen modernist typography mirrors the firm's meticulous yet sensitive approach to design: values that now infuse the visual identity as much as the architectural language.
The subdued, refined colour palette serves as a canvas that highlights the projects themselves. Meanwhile, the warm and human-scaled photographic approach conveys the atmosphere of the spaces, the collaborative design process, and the team spirit behind each project.
ACA’s new website reflects these same intentions. More than a project portfolio, the platform offers an immersive experience that honours the depth and diversity of the firm’s architectural achievements.
This comprehensive effort showcases the range of ACA’s work—from heritage restorations and cultural or community-based projects, to buildings that maintain a close dialogue with nature. The website thus becomes both a tool for representation and a dynamic editorial space that evolves alongside the firm’s ongoing practice.
This visual transformation marks a new chapter in the studio’s evolution. It expresses the shared ambition of Patricia Pronovost, Martin L’Hébreux, and Mathieu St-Amant to carry forward the vision of Anne Carrier and Robert Boily by focusing on the strength of collaboration, the intelligence of place, and the rigour of execution. More than a purely aesthetic update, this is a deliberate repositioning: one that embraces the creation of human, bold, and refined architecture designed to resonate across generations.
