Now in its sixth year, Dezeen Awards celebrates the world's best architecture, interiors, and design and has become the benchmark for international design excellence.

This year, Dezeen Awards launches in partnership with Bentley Motors as part of a wider collaboration that will see the brand work with Dezeen to support and inspire the next generation of design talent, as well as champion design excellence and sustainable solutions.

Sustainability: Key across categories

Categories have been revised for 2023, and there are now 39 project categories to enter across architecture, interiors, design, and sustainability.

This includes nine new awards, three of which are within our sustainability categories and will reward sustainable renovations, sustainable building products, and material innovations.

Across all categories, more information is being requested about how projects impact people and the planet.

The winners of these 39 project categories will go head to head for the chance to be crowned one of four overall project of the year winners across architecture, interiors, design, and sustainability.

39 categories to enter

New architecture categories have been introduced for both large- and small-scale projects. House extensions can now be entered, as well as education projects, infrastructure, transport projects, and mixed-use projects, which can include urban design and landscape improvements.

In design, a new category has been added specifically to reward bathroom and kitchen design, which includes baths, showers, toilets, sinks, taps, kitchen appliances, and built-in furniture. 

Health and wellbeing across all sectors

Health and wellbeing categories have been extended across all three sectors: architecture, interiors, and design.

These will celebrate innovative projects that contribute to the improvement of people's physical, mental, and emotional health.

New wards for designers of the year

Six Designers of the Year awards are also new for 2023 to celebrate leading, emerging, and established names across architecture, interiors, and design.

However, these awards are by nomination-only, and judges will shortlist names – it is not possible to enter these awards.

In partnership with Bentley, Dezeen Awards is also introducing The Bentley Lighthouse Award. This award is for an individual or organization who has made and continues to make a transformative contribution to the architecture and design industry, through which they seek to create a better world. This award will also be nomination-only.

A prestigious judging panel

Entries will be judged by a diverse panel of leading industry professionals, made up of 90 architects and designers from around the globe. Judges announced so far include designers Piet Hein Eek, Sabine Marcelis, and Erwan Bouroullec, architects Farshid Moussavi, Patrik Schumacher, and Sanjay Puri, as well as interior designers Colin King, Kelly Behun, and Masamichi Katayama.
